Day 1 – Hometown / Beijing  

Fly with Air Canada or West Jet to Vancouver, and then connect with Air China for your flight to Beijing. Meet your Canadian Tour Leader and start your worry-free vacation.

Day 2 – Arriving Beijing

Arrive in Beijing, the capital city of China. You will be greeted by your local guide and transferred to your hotel. Relax or explore Beijing at your leisure.

Day 3 – Beijing

After breakfast you will be exploring the heart of Beijing. The trip starts from Tian’anmen Square, the largest public square in the world – the square and its surrounding areas are home to some of China’s most historic monuments and government edifices. Then take a tour to the Forbidden City, the largest existing ancient architectural complex in China. At night enjoy a Welcome Peking Duck Dinner. ( B / L / SD )

Day 4 – Beijing

Spend an inspiring day at the Great Wall (Juyong Pass). Enjoy your walk along its ramparts, and absorb the breathtaking views. Then tour around the Summer Palace for an enchanting panorama of lake, landscape, pagodas, and pavilions. On the way back, have a closer look at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Stadium (the Bird’s Nest & the Water Cube), and visit a tea house en route. In the evening enjoy a dazzling Beijing Acrobatic Show. Day 5 – Beijing

Today you will start the day with a Rickshaw Tour around the ancient alleyways of Hutong – one of Beijing’s 700-year-old traditional cottage neighbourhoods. You can visit a family in one of the “Quadrangles”. Then, tour a pearl workshop. In the afternoon explore Wangfujing (One of Beijing’s most famous shopping streets).  (B / L / D)

Day 6 – Beijing / Xi’an

In the morning you will flight to Xi’an. Visit the historic Little Goose Pagoda and Big Goose Pagoda Square and a jade workshop. Tonight, enjoy the well-known Xi’an Special Dumpling Banquet  as you are entertained by a brilliant Tang Dynasty Show.  (B / L / SD)

Day 7 – Xi’an

Today we begin our day with an unforgettable tour of the excavation site of more than 6,000 Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses as well as the visit to the Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses Reproduction Factory. For lunch, enjoy a Handmade Noodle meal accompanied by a noodle-making show. After lunch we will visit the historical Muslim Quarter Market which is the hub of a community of about 20,000 Muslims. Then you will be transferred to your hotel, so you can enjoy a free evening. Dinner on your own.  ( B / L )  

Day 8 – Xi’an / Wuhan ~ Yichang ~ Yangtze River Cruise

Today, you will fly to Wuhan, hop on a ride to Yichang. In the evening, board the deluxe cruise ship MV President No.7/8 to catch every splendid and amazing moment along the Yangtze River.

Day 9 – Yangtze River Cruise

Take a shore excursion at Sandouping takes you to “Three Gorges Dam”, the biggest hydroelectric dam in the world. Return to the ship and set sail for the first gorge – Xiling Gorge, the longest and the most hazardous one in the famous “Three Gorges”. Tonight, enjoy a Captain’s Welcome Dinner.  ( B / L / SD )

Day 10 – Yangtze River Cruise

Begin your day with an excursion to Shennong Stream, which takes you almost 20 miles of cascading waterfalls, steep cliffs, karst caves, three-colored springs. Return to the cruise ship again and set sail through the second gorge – Wu Gorge, known for its odd, misty rock formations and its backdrop of soaring mountains. Later in the afternoon, you will pass the third gorge – Qutang Gorge, the shortest but the most dramatic Gorges with ancient relics scattered along its steep cliffs. Enjoy a Crew Cabaret Show at night. ( B / L / D )

Day 11 – Yangtze River Cruise

After breakfast, take a shore excursion to visit the Shibaozhai Temple, a gem of Chinese Architecture located in Zhong County, at the south bank of the Yangtze River. Enjoy Captain’s Farewell Banquet followed by a Gathering Party at night. ( B / L / SD )

Day 12 – Chongqing ~ Chengdu  ( By High Speed Train )

After breakfast, disembark the cruise at Chongqing, a famous mountain city. Take a High-Speed  Train t to Chengdu, Chengdu is the capital city of  Sichuan Province in Southwestern China. Chengdu is the home and habitat of giant pandas.  Upon arrival, you’ll visit the Old Style Chengdu of Wide & Narrow Alley and Jinli Street – once was one of the busiest commercial streets during the Shu Kingdom (221-263). Tonight you will have an optional entertainment of Sichuan Face-changing Show.  ( B/L )

Day 13 – Chengdu ~ Leshan Giant Buddha

This morning we will go for a drive to Leshan (a prefecture-level city at the confluence of the Dadu and Min rivers and located about 120 km from Chengdu) and visit the Leshan Giant Buddha.  This  is a 71-metre (233 feet) tall stone statue, built between 713 and 803 (during the Tang Dynasty), depicting Maitreya. It is carved out of a cliff face that lies at the confluence of the Min and Dadu Rivers in the southern part of the Sichuan province. The stone sculpture faces Mount Emei, with the rivers flowing below its feet. It is the largest and tallest stone Buddha statue in the world  and it is by far the tallest pre-modern statue in the world. In 1996 The Mount Emei Scenic Area (including the Leshan Giant Buddha) was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.Admire the beautiful Rice Paddies and Country Landscapes on your way back to Chengdu.  (B / L / D)

Day 14 – Chengdu / Shanghai  ( By Air )

In the Morning we will tour  the Panda Breeding Research Centre , a non-profit research and breeding facility that creates an imitated natural environment for giant pandas and other rare animals. Founded in 1987, this facility  includes a fodder room, sleeping quarters and a medical station.

Later in the day we will go to the Giant Panda Museum, and then you will be taken to the Airport, so you can catch your flight to Shanghai. Lunch on board the plane. Upon your arrival in Shanghai you will be transferred to your  hotel. Evening at your leisure.  ( B / L / D )

Day 15 – Shanghai

Shanghai full day tour. You will visit the Xin Tian Di – replica of Old Shanghai, Shanghai Museum and People’s Square. You will be amazed at the beauty of historical architecture while walking along the “Bund”. Then tour Yuyuan Bazaar. You will visit Pudong Development Zone, a close look at the famous Oriental Pearl TV Tower. Visit the famous Nanjing Road shopping street. After dinner a Huangpu River Night Cruise could be arranged as an optional activity for the night.

Day 16 – Shanghai (Free Day)

Enjoy a day at your leisure in China’s biggest city. A free one way transfer to a local shopping area will be arranged. Lunch and dinner will be on your own.( B )

Day 17 – Shanghai / Hometown (via Beijing)

After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport in Shanghai for your departure to Canada. You are to arrive home on the same day.  (B)
