Day 1 – Hometown / Siem Reap (via Shanghai)

Fly with West Jet to Vancouver, and then connect with China Eastern Airlines for your flight to Siem Reap via Shanghai.

Day 2 – Arrive Siem Reap

Cross the International Date Line and arrive in Siem Reap (Cambodia). You will be greeted by your local guide. Transfer to hotel and rest up for the next day.
Hotel: Empress Angkor Hotel (5-Star)

Day 3 – Siem Reap ~ Angkor Wat

After breakfast, drive to Banteay Srei Temple (10th century), located at the north of Siem Reap Town about 32 km. Visit the world famous Angkor Wat (7th Wonder of the World), one of the world’s most stunning buildings. Angkor was the capital of Khmer that existed from 802 to 1431. Its distinctive five towers are emblazoned on the Cambodian flag, and the 12th century masterpiece is considered by art historians to be the prime example of classical Khmer art and architecture. Angkor Wat’s five towers symbolize Meru’s five peaks, the enclosed wall represents the mountains at the edge of the world, and the surrounding moat – the ocean beyond. (B)

Day 4 – Siem Reap ~ Tonle Sap Lake ~ Wat Thmey (Killing Field)

After breakfast, take an excursion to Kampong Phluck floating villages for boat trip on the Tonle Sap Lake, where you will have the opportunity to learn about daily life of local people on the lake. You will see houses on high stilts built within the floodplain about 16 km southeast of Siem Reap. The villages are primarily Khmer and house a combined 3000 inhabitant. Flooded mangrove forest surrounds the area and is home to a variety of wildlife including crab eating macaques. On the way, you will pass by the floating houses. Experience ox-cart riding throughout the local villages, rice fields, and vegetable fields. Interact with school children as they make their way home from school. Next, visit the Wat Thmey (Killing Field), Artisan D’Angkor Art School, and T-Galleria by DFS, the largest duty free luxury department store in Cambodia. Overnight stay in a hotel.  (B)
